I've read prior books by this author and was interested in reading his latest effort. Falgoux exceeds his previous books with this captivating story set in South Louisiana. The book reveals the birth of a church parish and follows it's growth from a warehouse church with many insiders viewpoints and behind the scenes details. The stories were honest, captivating, and drew me in completely. I had a hard time putting this book down and would highly recommend.Product details

This book is a riveting personal, and sometimes first-hand, account of a small town church community's faith story and its evolutionary struggles during the implementation of the Roman Catholic Church's Vatican II changes. Although both traditional and modernistic viewpoints of these changes are touched upon, this book's leaning towards the more popularist ideas about the Catholic faith make it an unsuitable theological study. Regardless, this book remains an inspiring tale that allows the reader to intimately discover the roots of a Thibodaux, Louisiana faith community from roughly 1960-2008.
Great book about a wonderful parish. Love learning about the history of the Church I grew up in - and learning some of my own family history!
