The Twilight Saga New Moon Complete Illustrated Movie Companion by Mark Cotta Vaz
This was a awesome movie tie-in before the movie came out! It made me want more! The pictures were just awesome. Oh my...just so much awesome stuff in it!
If all you want is pretty pictures, this is definitely the book for you. I was hoping for some decent background and information on the costuming choices/hairstyling choices (what is up with Esme's new 'do?) but found the book to not be that informative. In fact, I found some very egregious errors in it that should have been found by the editor long before publication. Let's take page 112 for example. "There would be two looks for the Volturi, one from the scene from the 1800's, another for the contemporary time. [Sic] 'For their eighteenth-century look, I settled on the beginnings of the modern suit, with a slim coat to their knees,'" Um, huh? So is it the 1800's or the 18th century? Based on the photos of the costuming, it's meant to be the 18th century (1780's to be precise) but for such a rather glaring error as not being able to decide which century you are in (are you trying for the 18th or the 19th century, dear director?) it seems that that would have been cleared up prior to publication.
There are many many other errors in the book as well. It's written more like a cheesy magazine article than any true publication. Honestly, I preferred the Twilight Director's Notebook a lot better because the notes in that made a whole lot more sense than this thing. Granted, we are dealing with a different director now but still, can't he get his own notes right?
I bought this movie companion just to fill in the time between reading and the movie. I was extremely impressed with it. There of course are quotes from the actors but it also gives you insite on how they made the special effects. The pictures are great. This is a great add to my collection.
I have watched this movie several several times. It is great and I love the actors. Especially the 3 main characters. Kristine Stewart is perfect as Bella. Robert Pattinson is excellent and Taylor is also great.
This is a must read for all Twilight fans. Full of all kind of information. Pics, quotes werewolves. If your a fan, get it!
This was great, but did not have as many details as the Director's book from Twilight.
It was glossy and has a lot of photos, but not as many "making of" details as I wanted.
I liked knowing what was in the director's backpack. I liked knowing that Bella's bracelet cost
$2.50. I also liked having it pointed out that James and Victoria wear their victim's clothes.
We Twi-hard fans should still have this in our libraries, but I hope we go back to the Director's notebook style for
Eclipse. Not enough detail for me.
Everything a movie companion book ought to be. Loaded with quality color photographs taken during filming, many behind the scene shots too.
You'll get a lot of stuff to read about the movie from cast and crew, including behind the scenes information on many aspects of the movie ( I especially liked the wolf creation information ).
If you saw the movie and have the DVD you'll want this book. If you want to know something about it, it's worthy of your attention even if you haven't seen any of the Twilight movies.
The illustrated Movie Companions are a real must have for any Twilight fan! They're wonderful!
